Small Steps

Cerise had her 2D Echo yesterday. The holes in her heart (PDA, 2 VSD's and 1 PFO) are still there but have reduced in size already. Praise God! I also weighed her in the pedia's office and she has gained another 100 grams. I am so relieved! 100 grams in 2 days! Things are looking brighter for her and I am so happy! I know that things will be better soon.

The pedia-cardio said that the condition of her heart is not bad enough to be the reason for her failure to thrive. Honestly, I think it is all a combination of problems in her health that caused it. Her heart, anemia and the sepsis. She was given an additional medicine to help relieve the pressure from her lungs which consequently can help her gain more. Slowly, these problems are being addressed and I think Cerise is on her way to recovery. :-)

  1. Hi Mia!

Sorry I have been out of the loop and just found out vaguely from Louie. Wish I could have comforted you earlier.

Take heart in knowing that Cheli had vsd as well, and thank God her ninong is a cardio, he assured me then that the hole would have closed by the time she was 2yrs.

Chel was actually a pretty lightweight baby but somewhere when she was toddler she became the little tsitsai she is now ;)...

    All shall be well :)

  2. Hi Mia! sorry I just started reading your posts today. Is Cerise your daughter? What's her state right now? Is it as serious as it sounds? What should we be praying for? Chips

  4. Hi Chips! Yes, Cerise is my youngest girl. She's turning 3 months next week. You can read my past posts about her condition. :-) She had sepsis, a blood infection, at one week. We also discovered that she has holes in her heart. She also had anemia and was diagnosed as failure to thrive. She is slowly gaining weight now and just had her 2nd 2D Echo. Pls pray for her full recovery. Thanks! Kisses to your baby boy!

  5. Hello Mia!

Ngayon lang ako nagbasa ng mga blog post mo dito. Parang sinasaksak puso ko habang binabasa ko posts mo about Cerise. I can relate kasi. With Huey dati halos ganyan nafefeel ko noon. Kaya sobrang worried pa din ako with Cate ngayon kapag iyak ng iyak and not feeling well. Yung trauma kasi namin grabe. Pero look at me now nakayanan ko, so kaya mo din yan.

God is good and Cerise will be fine. Be strong for her. Hugs my friend! I am always praying for baby Cerise. Kisses to her. mwuah! I am just here. TC!
